,My biggest piece of advice is to go into recruitment at UT with an OPEN MINDI cannot stress this enoughplease try not to listen to other girls and thier opinions of the houses, especially if they are negative. Obviously it varies from university to university and chapter to chapter. You will find some houses that feel welcoming, some that dont and that all depends on you as a person. PAN LOVE PEOPLE!! Alpha Phi. Clearly Tri Delt, Zeta, and Alpha Phi were all rushing against them and all did better. Delta Zetas are gorgeous, easy girls while Delta Gammas are typically bigger in size and far more unattractive. Alpha Phi is considered by many to be an upper mid-tier sorority. For some it's all about family and money. Although Zeta Tau Alphas are often committed to philanthropy and successful fundraisers, they have a reputation for only accepting white girls. This is the most ignorant post I've ever read. A lot of these girls didn't have connections when going though rush. Pi Phis tend to be arrogant, and really don't care what people think of them, they seem to be above it all. Each sorority's traits vary by campus. Pi Phi has a mix of the two. For instance, nationally ChiO is "Make-A-Wish" and DG is "Service for Sight." That was just a matter of numbers because chapters can only take so many girls. What should matter is that you choose the sorority that you best fit into and makes YOU happy. TCU's Reputation. . SDTs were the athletic ones, but known to be easy..std sdt. Fortunately, you correctly pointed out these are generalization because from campus to campus there are important differences and from region to region. Possibly because of this, other Greek organizations have highly polarized opinions about Zetas. Zeta did have a great year but you guys are not rushing against PKT. Kappa Kappa Gamma seems to be falling in their ranking some due to their wild, "substance' use, and 'easy' dating habits. Definitely ChiO and KKG are the top tier at most schools. Usually need connections but if you are outgoing/pretty enough with a little bit of luck you can get in. They have found a place to do philanthropy, learn incredible study habits and make life-long friends.

,If you are coming to UT really raw, meaning no greek connections what so ever, you have a very large uphill battle. I did and I am happier than ever in my sorority. They are kind notorious for being, um, generous. This is absolutely absurd. Kappa: Like Pi Phi and Theta, usually wealthy girls. If you decide that you are not ready before initiation, you can break your pledge from the organization. I am at a TX college and top tier is Kappa, Theta and Pi Phi. Not to mention some bitter girls who didn't get in just like to spread misinformation to make themselves feel better. They can be competitive in Greek life events, which may make them appear to be top tier; however, their focus on socializing can affect their academics and philanthropy initiatives. OK, honestly, they were all beautiful blondes, great bodies, looked alike, and were a tad snobby, but not mean or fake. Take what you hear with a grain of salt and research your specific chapter. Pi Phi and Tri Delt are usually pretty strong up there as well. Top Tier: Zeta, Chi-O The University of Texas at Austin is home to more than 65 national fraternity and sorority chapters. Chi-Os and Kappa Alpha Thetas are top tier sororities at our school. Each chapter differs from each campus, and obviously you didnt take that into consideration. Chi O did end up rushing against Kappa because Kappa branches out more than Pi Phi and Theta so Chi O has to rush against them. Alpha Chi Omega (AXO or A Chi O) is a mid-tier sorority with a widely varying reputation. (Hang w/ Pi Phi and Kappa + SAE (Texas Rho) and some Fiji) Again, to get in you need to know people, be beautiful, and be from the right areas. So my assumption is that you are going into rush without knowing (m)any girls in the chapters. Most, if not all, sororities have sophomore quotas meaning that they have to accept a certain number of girls who rush their sophomore year. I'm a 00s alum from a house that used to sit very comfortably just beneath the Big 6. No one wants to say it because they have a strong tradition and are nice girls and don't really appear to be struggling for numbers or anything. Alpha Omicron Pi - mid tier (strong sisterhood; unique; not academically ambitious; fun; small town girls; down to earth) - Being a sorority with the most chapters around the United States and Canada than any other sorority, their reputations can vary. We are from the northeast and are not familiar with TCU. Many have noted that while Chi Os are sweet and classy, they are not necessarily known as the most physically attractive women (but not the ugliest, either; many have said they are plain Janes).
